4WD Modified Buggy

Orlowski is overnight TQ but nothing is decided in a world class field of RC racers

Q1– Xray`s newest signing David Ronnefalk started the same way into 4WD qualifying as he did in 2WD – with a TQ run. Ronnefalk had a strong pace and was confident after the run saying “compared to 2WD, I feel really comfortable with the car” and his goal for Q2 must be to repeat the result starting first into the heat. Only 1.5 seconds behind Ronnefalk, Schumacher driver Michal Orlowski took second place for the round followed by current 4WD world champion Davide Ongaro (Associated), Marcus Kaerup (Associated), and Bruno Coehlo (Xray)

Q2- The second round of 4WD Modified Buggy qualifying was a three-horse race between David Ronnefalk (Xray), Michal Orlowski (Schumacher), and team Associated`s Davide Ongaro. Orlowski and Ronnefalk changed the lead multiple times during the first 2 minutes before Davide Ongaro popped up on top of the board. Ongaro was driving around the track looking “smooth as silk”, and everything looked like he could take his first EOS TQ run but in the last lap it was Orlowski who took the win by only 0.038 (!) seconds from the reigning world champion Ongaro. The 4WD class is as close as 2WD was and nothing is decided now. Orlowski and Ronnefalk will go to bed with one TQ run in the bag and the two remaining rounds on Sunday morning will be decisive for the overall pole position here in Hann. Münden.

4WD Stock Buggy

Waitz is overnight TQ at the EOS in Germany

Q1– Aaron Waitz was top seed for qualifying and continued to dominate with a strong TQ run ahead of Sven Rudig and Mike Hansen. Aaron Waitz was super consistent and posted the fastest lap of the run as well – a great start for him into 4WD Stock Buggy qualifying. Mathias Mächler and Kim Nielsen rounded out the top five.

Q2– Mike Hansen was the only driver in striking distance to Q2 winner Aaron Waitz who lost 4 seconds of time in lap 12 where he rolled it over. However, the pace of Waitz was strong enough and it looks like he is the top favorite for pole position in the 4WD Stock Buggy class now. Behind overnight TQ Waitz and second placed Hansen, it was Sven Rudig who took third place from the round, followed by Benedikt Heitzer and Piotr Stankiewicz from the Polish Race Stars team!

Modified Truck

Widmaier wins Q1 and Q2 of Modified Truck class

Q1– The opening round of Modified Truck qualifying saw several drivers in the lead after almost everybody crashed his stadium truck once or twice during the run. Micha Widmaier took the win, Jörn Neumann (fastest lap), Senne Pauwels, Burak Kilic, and Marco Briers also finished in the top 5 of the first Modified Truck qualifying heat.

Q2– Micha Widmaier was again on fire in Q2 and had a close battle with his Sworkz teammate Jörn Neumann. Widmaier made almost no mistakes, while Neumann had two small bubbles in the middle of the run. Burak Kilic finished third, and Senne Pauwels fourth. With two out of two, the overnight TQ of the Modified Truck class is Micha Widmaier and we are already looking forward to his battle with his teammate on Sunday.
