2WD Practice Report, EOS Daun 2024

The three rounds of free 2WD Buggy practice are done and we got kind of a first flavour for the rest of the event. The track looks awesome when cars are driving on it and drivers reported that it is huge fun out there. 4WD practice is up next with three more rounds of practice to wrap up the first day of the biggest ever EOS event!

2WD Modified Buggy

Daniel Kobbevik (Schumacher) had the fastest car on track as the Schumacher factory driver was able to lay down the two fastest consecutive laps onto the track in Daun. He was followed by Michal Orlowski (Schumacher), who was 4 tenths behind. Elias Johansson made it a Schumacher 1-2-3 sitting in P3 after free practice. Team Associated`s Joona Haatanen was fourth, followed by the Swork`z of Micha Widmaier.

2WD Stock Buggy

Pauwels, Burbach, and Paulsen setting the early pace

The 2WD Stock Buggy class saw Senne Pauwels on top of the board. But Mick Burback was almost matching the time of Pauwels two consecutive hot laps with both only separated by some hundreds of a second. Henrik Paulsen came in third place in a stacked field of 78 Stock 2WD Buggy racers!

Stock Truck

Vranckx tops free practice in Daun

Nick Vranckx from Belgium was the fastest Stock Truck driver during the three rounds of free practice on Thursday morning. He had a big advantage of almost one (!) second over his competitors on his fastest two consecutive laps. Qualifying will show if he just nailed two hero laps, or if he will be on top again by a good margin. Danish racer Mike Hansen was second in practice, followed by Maxime Dachicourt from France in third position.
