2WD Modified Buggy

Kaerup wins thrilling A1 ahead of Hall and Ben Mohamed

Michal Orlowski and Marcus Kaerup were putting on a real show in the first 2WD Modified Buggy A-Main. Team Associated driver Kaerup was on the back of Orlowski all time and created a huge amount of pressure on the Schumacher Cougar buggy in front of him. The crowd was reacting with a huge “ooooaaaahhhhh” for the first time when Kaerup slightly touched Orlowski in lap 2 after the center-double. Kaerup immediately lifted the throttle to let Orlowski go by again – great sportsmanship from Kaerup!

The race got even more intense one lap later (lap 10) when Orlowski`s car landed a little wrong and clipped the board in the centre of the track. Kaerup somehow found his way by and took over the lead which he was able to maintain till the end.

Orlowski dropped down to P5 as he was not able to get by Tommy Hall, Noah Ben Mohamed, and Daniel Kobbevik again. This first final run was a great display for the sport. The best about it: There are two more finals to come!

2WD Stock Buggy

In a world of his own – Pauwels wins first A-Main

Top qualifier Senne Pauwels (Schumacher) took a dominant win in the first 2WD Stock Buggy A-Main. Pauwels had a clean first lap and was immediately able to pull a gap over the rest of the field. Valentin Peuziat (Xray) and Pelle Culmsee had a nice fight behind Pauwels until Peuziat lost his car in lap seven of the race. Pelle Culmsee moved up to second with his Mugen buggy and Ales Bidovsky was running in third spot.

Rik Heamers and Nino Altmanninger took fourth and fifth place away from A1 while Valentin Peuziat had to live with a disappointing sixth place.  Out front it was still Senne Pauwels who had everything under control. He took the win from Culmsee and Bidovsky by a comfortable margin of three seconds and was the only driver to post a 20-second lap time (20.822). Pauwels has the chance for the overall victory in A2, he just needs to copy and paste his performance from the first leg of finals to seal the deal.

Stock Truck

Masterclass from Zalewski in A1

Young Jan Zalewski from Poland drove a brilliant race in the first Stock Truck A-Main. He had a great start with his Xray truck, and after second place starter Patrick Bremstaller had a bad landing in lap one with his Sworkz car before the step-up section, Zalewski was putting his head down and checked out completely. He won the first final with a huge gap of almost nine (9!) seconds ahead of all the others – what a great drive from the Polish youngster. Mike Hansen finished in second place and Marco Briers managed to take third after starting from ninth on the grid. Christian Wukonig and Dominik Wimberger rounded out the top 5 in the first Stock Truck A-Main.
