A great first day came to a late ending after three rounds of practice, followed by three rounds of qualifying for our 2WD Stock and 2WD Modified racers at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun. The action on track was great and everybody had a lot of fun on the amazing track built by the “Race Stars” around EOS racer Pawel Ntkovca. We are already looking forward for tomorrow when we will see all desicions in qualifying and the triple finals. The 4WD drive portion of the event will be held from Saturday to Sunday right after 2WD is completed.

Johansson holds overnight TQ with one round of qualifying to follow on Friday morning

It was a great day for the Schumacher team when Michal Orlowski took the win in Q3 during a late evening session in Daun. Orlowski was the third different TQ driver in the 2WD class after we saw his teammates Johansson and Kobbevik winning the previous rounds today. However, it was not an easy task for (a very jetlagged) Michal Orlowski as the competition was pushing hard. Team Associated`s top gun Marcus Kaerup took second for the round and was only three tenths behind Orlowski when they crossed the finish line. Bartosz Zalewski (Xray) had his best run of the weekend with a P3 ahead of the two Associated buggies of Tommy Hall and Joona Haatanen.

Elias Johansson is holding the overnight TQ after three rounds of qualifying and is closely followed by his teammates Michal Orlowski and Daniel Kobbevik. Behind the Schumacher trio we find four Associated drivers with Marcus Kaerup, Tommy Hall, Clement Boda, and Joona Haatanen. Bartosz Zalewski is the best ranked Xray driver sitting in eight spot, while Ben Smith (Schumacher) and Alexander Landen (Associated) are completing the top 10. With one more round of qualifying to follow on Friday morning, we are excited to see who will qualify on which position for the finals!

Hofmann is overnight TQ in Daun

Daniel Hofman finished the day on a high when he posted the fastest overall runtime of the day. Hofman won Q3 ahead of Senne Pauwels and Frederik Hovgaard, followed by Sören Sparbier, Sascha Frühwirth, and Pawel Ntkovca. After this result, Hofman is tied on points with Pauwels now and the faster overall runtime earned Hofman the overnight TQ honors. However, there still is Q4 on the line tomorrow morning and nothing is decided yet. Behind Hofman and Pauwels we have Pawel Trella, Sören Sparbier, and Frederik Hovgaard completing the top 5 for the day.
