2WD Modified Buggy

Kaerup victorious after spectacular final in Daun

The overall 2WD victory was on the line in A3 and we got the showdown we wanted. Michal Orlowski brought the field around the first lap with Marcus Kaerup right in tow. Kaerup was immediately “all over” Orlowski and pushed really hard with his punchy driving style. Orlowski drove clean lines to hold off Kaerup but was not able to pull a gap to the Associated buggy of the Danish driver. It happened in lap 6, when Kaerup was a little too close to Orlowski`s tail before coming onto the straightway. Kaerup touched Orlowski`s Schumacher buggy which landed on the roof. Kaerup waited for Orlowski to let him by again, but they lost about three seconds – which was exactly the gap they had over the rest of the field.

After this incident, the top 5 had been together closely again and Orlowski could feel the pressure. He made a mistake at one of the following jumps and dropped back to the end of the field. This was the end for Orlowski`s chances to win 2WD again in Daun after 2024. Kaerup never looked back and took the overall win for Team Associated, followed by Michal Orlowski on an overall second place. Daniel Kobbevik took second place from A3 which elevated him to the third spot on the podium. After these thrilling 2WD a-mains, everybody will do a reset now to start 4WD on Saturday morning from zero!

I am happy that I was able to win here for Associated and my new sponsors Hobbywing and Team EAM. I was pushing hard and unfortunateley I touched Michal what I really didn`t wanted to so I am kind of sorry for that. I waited for him and we continued. Then he made a mistake and I could take the win here in Daun. Now I am looking forward to the start of 4WD on Saturday!

It is tough to end the 2WD race in that way. I was TQ and had the pace for the win but I got taken out and could not recover from that. For sure, I made the deciding mistake by myself but he (Marcus) was pushing very hard before and was driving a bit too risky in many corners in my opinion. In the end I can be happy with P2 overall and I like to thank my teammate Daniel (Kobbevik) who was holding everybody behind him in A3. However, tomorrow is a new day and I will try to do well in 4WD.

2WD Stock Buggy

Danish Dynamite – Culmsee wins Stock Buggy in Daun for Mugen Seiki

“Sometimes third is the best place to be” says Scotty Ernst (very often). For Pelle Culmsee it became reality when he was able to take the win in the third and deciding A-Main in Daun. Culmsee was able to benefit from an early carnage ahead of him with TQ Pauwlsen and Valentin Peuziat. Many other cars had been involved as well but Culmsee found his way around and took the win in A3 with his LRP energized MSB1 buggy ahead of Ales Bidovsky and Rik Haemers. It was the first EOS victory for Pelle Culmsee (at his first ever EOS) and also for Mugen Seiki – congratulations!

Stock Truck

First EOS win for young talent Jan Zalewski

The last final of our Stock Truck class was a showdown for the win between Jan Zalewski (Xray) and Patrick Bremstaller (Sworkz). Both had one a main each and they were also setting the pace in the early stages of the run. It was visible that Zalewski was a bit nervous as he did not hit all his marks, but he got his nerves together and converted his pole position into another win.

Patrick Bremstaller had some bad luck when Pawel Trella was hitting him hard in the fight for second and third. Bremstaller somehow found his way back to second spot but lost it again to Trella when he got it wrong on the left side of the track. Jan Zalewski celebrated his first and well-deserved EOS race win here in Daun and received many congratulations after his great performance!
