4WD Modified Buggy

After we had seen Orlowski and Zalewski taking maximum points from Q1 and Q2, it was Daniel Kobbevik who was on top of the game with his Schumacher buggy in Q3. Kobbevik was very happy after the run and said that he “had not expected such a great pace” from his car. Kobbevik had a gap of 1.3 seconds over second placed Joona Haatanen`s Associated B84, with Q1 winner Orlowski another three tenths behind.

Elias Johansson scored a valuable P4, and Noah Ben Mohamed took away P5 from the round. With three different TQ`s from the first three rounds of qualifying, the decision for the overall pole position went don to the line in Q4 and it was all about Orlowski, Zalewski, and Kobbevik!

The last round of qualifying was the deciding one for the overall TQ here in Daun. It was a dog-fight to the finish line between Kobbevik, Orlowski, and Zalewski. All drivers went “flat out” and risked everything to lock in the pole position for the Sunday mains.

Michal Orlowski had the best outcome as he won the heat with a 1.4 second gap over Zalewski and Kobbevik. Zalewski was slamming his car over the finish line and into the fence as he wanted to win the heat as well but it was not enough to snatch the TQ away from Orlowski anymore.

4WD Stock Buggy

Hofman grabs thrilling last minute TQ in Daun

Yokomo racer Frederik Hovgaard was the third different driver to win a qualifying heat in the 4WD Stock Buggy class. Hovgaard had a super-small advantage of 0.15 seconds over Simon Cermak who took second place behind the winner. Round two TQ Martin Skar scored the points for P3 ahead of Q1 winner Patrick Müller and Sascha Frühwirth. The pole position was up for grabs in Q4 between Müller, Skar, Hofman, and Hovgaard.

Hofman took the chance in the last round when he (finally) had a perfect run to seal the TQ. Hovgaard finished second again and will start right behind Hofman on teh 11 car A-Main grid on Sunday. Martin Skar qualified third overall ahead of Patrick Müller, Simon Cermak, Sascha Frühwirth, Senne Pauwels, Olivier de Montfumant, Matej Sermak, Peter Stein, and Stefan Matas.

Modified Truck

Landen claims Modified Truck pole

Team Associated`s hottest iron in the truck class, Alexander Landen from Sweden, had another good race in Q3 and took away a second consecutive TQ run. Jörn Neumann was second again, only 1 second behind Landen. Marcel Schneider and William Venables took third and fourth place and secured themselves some good points again.

The last qualifier was a close one again and Alexander Landen was able to seasl the TQ spot. There was an unlucky situation between him and Neumann when Landen rolled his car over after a bad landing, hitting Neumanns truck who lost valuable time – and the possible chance to TQ. Neumann will now start second on the grid behind Alexander Landen and in front of Micha Widmaier, Marcel Schneider, Max Götzl, William Venables, Guillaume Guffroy, Leon Westhause, Noah Schwartz, Patrick Bremstaller, and Egon Theuwissen.
