4WD portion of the event underway, Modified Truck as well

After the two rounds of practice, we saw two rounds of 4WD Buggy and Modified Truck qualifying at the Sporthotel Grafenwald. In our report we will inform you quickly about the Q1 and Q2 results in each of the classes here at EOS RD3.

4WD Modified Buggy

Orlowski is top qualifier and close to win another overall EOS championship title

In the opening round of 4WD Modified Buggy, it was Pekko Iivonen who had to stop his car after some technical issues in the second fastest group. He was on a great pace and would have scored good points. Lee Martin took the win in this heat. In the top heat we saw Michal Orlowski laying down a blistering TQ run onto the track in Daun. He was the most consistent driver and took the win with 1.5 seconds in front of young Marcus Kaerup and the even younger talent Bartosz Zalewski. Micha Widmaier and Jörn Neuman completed the top five and 2WD winner Champlin took sixth overall for the round.

The second qualifier took place on a very late Saturday evening. Michal Orlowski took another win and will start from pole position into the triple finals on Sunday. Young Bartosz Zalewski had an amazing run to second for the round in front of Broc Champlin, Clement Boda, and Pekko Iivonen.

4WD Stock Buggy

Sparbier holding overnight pole position at EOS RD3

Matus Benetin took the first round of 4WD Stock Buggy qualifying. With a lot of fast drivers being in different heats, it was a little hard to follow the action during the round of qualifying. It was Simon Stegmeier and Sören Sparbier taking second and third in round 1 and Benedikt Heitzer and Aaron Waitz rounded out the top 5.
After Benetin took Q1, Sören Sparbier won the second round with the fastest time of the day. This result sees last weekends ETS Frontweel class winner Sparbier holding the overnight TQ here at the EOS. It is the second EOS for Sparbier so far, and after winning the race in Göttingen he has a great chance to win the overall championship this weekend as well.

Modified Truck

Neumann has already sealed the overall TQ after dominant performance on Saturday

Jörn Neumann won the first qualifying heat in the Modified Truck class in front of Martin Bayer. The Sworkz racer had a gap of 2.7 seconds to Xray`s Martin Bayer. Behind the leaders we saw Max Götzl, Micha Widmaier in P3 and 4 while Sophie Müller posted the fifth fastest time out of the second fastest group. The second round was in the hands of Neumann again. He looked untouchable out there and took another win which puts him on pole position for Sunday`s triple A-Mains. Micha Widmaier took second place but was 6 seconds (!) behind Neumann`s TQ time. Max Götzl, Martin Bayer, and Burak Kilic rounded out the top five in Q2. Can somebody challenge Neuman for the win on Sunday, or will it be a walk in the park for the German topdriver? We will find it out on Sunday here at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun.
