First lap turns into burning hell for Orlowski

We wanted a showdown – we had one…..! After the sound of the tone in A3, Michal Orlowski (Schumacher) brought the field around the first corner and over the big double, followed by the smaller double which he also nailed right.

Second place starter David Ronnefalk (Xray) accelerated very aggressive after landing the double and drove straight into the rear of Orlowski’s Schumacher buggy. Ronnefalk’ s buggy spun around and Orlowski could continue as the race leader. But as Orlowski lost all the corner speed in the left turn before the next jump, his buggy was on the limit to make the jump. Orlowski landed too much on the left side of the track and Bartosz Zalewski landed beside him on the inside line of the turn. The two buggies had contact, and both lost time. Burak Kilic was the next one arriving to the scene and he managed to jump into the lead. Zalewski and Orlowski tried to hunt him down in the remaining four and a half minutes, but Kilic had an amazing pace with his LRP “blue is better” powered buggy.

The spectators around the track knew that Kilic also had the chance for the overall win after taking a second place from A1 in the morning. Kilic needed to beat the overall runtime from Orlowski’s win in A1 – and that was exactly what he did. Kilic was putting his head down and hammered some 19 second lap times at the end of the run to beat Orlowski`s runtime by half a second. After Scotty Ernst announced that Kilic had won the overall race, the crowd went crazy and Kilic earned some standing ovations after his drive to victory. On the other side, a very frustrated Michal Orlowski came down the drivers stand and was absolutely upset with what had happened in the minutes before on track.

The final result saw Burak Kilic claiming the top spot on the podium, and he was joined there by second placed Michal Orlowski, and Bartosz Zalewski. It was a great show with many ups and downs and the whole ETS crew likes to congratulate Burak Kilic for his win from fourth on the grid. He just took the chances when he had them and made the maximum out of the 4WD race.

Hey man, I have just won the 4WD race here in Daun I can`t believe it. It was amazing on track once I was in the lead and I tried all I could to do the quickest run possible – not bad from fourth on the grid right 🙂 I like to thank everybody who helped me during the weekend, especially Jürgen Lautenbach from LRP – it was simply amazing how good everything was!
-Burak Kulic (TR) LRP-

In my opinion it seems like the only thing David (Ronnefalk) wanted to do in A3 is taking me out – and that`s what he did. He completeley drove into the rear of my car and I lost the lead in lap one again after the same happened in A2 – hard to believe! After I dropped back, I tried to keep the race clean from my side as I did not wanted to hit Burak. This happened some years ago at the Euros and I am still sorry for that. However, I take second for now and will come back even stronger next time!
-Michal Orlowski (PL) Schumacher, Elceram, Cayote

Hofman takes first EOS victory after superb drive in A3

Daniel Hofman from the Czech Republic celebrated his first EOS win in Daun when he brought a great weekend to a perfect ending with a win in the third and deciding A-Main final. Right after the start, second placed Ales Bidovsky made a mistake in lap one and dropped down to fourth position. Aaron Waitz was now trying to real in the Xray buggy of Hofman in front of him. Waitz was very close, but Hofman just made no mistake and drove cool and clean.

Congratulations Daniel for an excellent job. Aaron Waitz and Ales Bidovsky completed the overall top three and joined race winner Hofman on the podium.

Widmaier beats “Truck King” Neumann at EOS in Daun

The last leg of triple A-Mains was a throwdown between Micha Widmaier and Jörn Neumann. They had a great race on track for the entire five minutes as Widmaier created a lot of pressure on the truck of his teammate in front of him. The Sworkz boys pulled a huge gap over the rest of the field and after Neumann had a bit of trouble lapping a truck in front of him, Widmaier found his way by and took over the lead. Neumann had a strong comeback afterwards and hoped for another chance to attack Widmaier but he was running out of time. Micha Widmaier took the win in A3 and the overall victory against his teammate Neumann who is known as the “unbeatable king of stadium truck racing”. Congratulations Micha Widmaier!

Behind them, Max Götzl had another nice battle with Burak Kilic and was able to secure thirds in the podium in front of Kilic and Bremstaller.
