Three rounds of 4WD Buggy and Modified Truck qualifying happened immediateley after the 2WD portion of the event. It was a very ong day at the Sporthotel Grafenwald in Daun and the third round of qualifying took place in the late evening hours. In this report we tell you what happened in Q1 and Q2, and we will inform you about Q3 in our final qualifying report on Sunday morning!

4WD Modified Buggy

Q1-The first round of 4WD Modified Buggy qualifying was a very close one between top seed Michal Orlowski (Schumacher) and Marcus Kaerup (Team Associated). The lead changed multiple times between these two drivers and the reigning 2WD Buggy European Champion Kaerup took the win by 0.22 seconds ahead of Orlowski. Kaerup also had the fastest lap of the heat to his favour which clearly showed that he will push hard to claim the pole position here in Daun. Team Associated`s Tommy Hall had a ballistic run in the b-group and posted the third fastest time, followed by Alexander Landen (Associated) and Micha Widmaier (Sworkz) who joined him in the top 5 after Q1.

Q2- Another super close round of 4WD Modified Buggy qualifying was underway in Q2. David Ronnefalk (Xray) posted a very fast time out of the c-group which was faster than everyone in the b-heat afterwards. Ronnefalk` s time was good enough for a P5 finish in Q2 as only four drivers of the top heat went faster. Michal Orlowski had a close fight with the Team Associated cars of Joona Haatanen and Davide Ongaro (fastest lap of the round) and was able to TQ the second round of qualifying by 6 tenths. Bartosz Zalewski finished fourth in Q2.

4WD Stock Buggy

Burback takes Q1 and Q2 in a dominant way

Q1- Mick Burbach was the fastest driver in the short round of 4Wd seeding practice. When Q1 started, he was leading away and had a clean run with his Xray buggy. Burbach took the win by a small margin of five tenths from Daniel Hofman. Mike Hansen took third for the round and Louis Mobers and Pawel Czajkowski posted a P4 and P5 time coming out of the b-heat. A great start into qualifying for Mick Burbach after he missed out the podium in the 2WD Stock Buggy class.

Q2- The second round saw again Mick Burbach on top of the board. The Xray driver had the fastest car on track and was able to win the heat even with a small crash in the last minute of the race. Mike Hansen, Daniel Hofmann, Joe Streff, and Olivier Montfumat rounded out the top 5 on Saturday afternoon.

Modified Truck

Bayer wins Q1, Neumann fights back in round 2

Q1- Xray`s martin Bayer took the opening round of Modified Truck qualifying in Daun. The driver from the Czech Republic had a close battle with Jörn Neumann (Swork`z) on track until Neumann lost around 4 seconds at the end of the run.  Micha Widmaier (Swork`z) posted the fastest lap of the race and finished third for the round ahead of Senne Pauwels (Schumacher) and Burak Kilic (Mugen Seiki).

Q2– After Bayer won the first round, Jörn Neumann was onto the point in the second run. Neumann showed that he is one of the best Stadium Truck racers in Europe as he postet the fastest lap of the heat while swinging his Truck through the jump sections. However, Xray driver Martin Bayer was very close to Neumann and lost Q2 only by 1.2 seconds to the Sworkz driver. Max Götzl, Senne Pauwels, and Berkan Kilic completed the top 5.
